Blue Hour, Thirteenth Beach (paper)
An oil on paper painting inspired by a Winter evening on Thirteenth Beach, Barwon Heads, watching the full moon rise above the dunes. In this piece I wanted to capture the soft blues and purples of the sky once the sun had gone down, and all of the colours and textures within the dunes. I always feel so inspired by the light blue saltbush which grows along the coast here.
I hope this painting captures the sense of calm which comes with watching the moon rise over an empty beach.
