Winter Moonrise, Thirteenth Beach
A painting inspired by a quiet Winter evening, watching the moon rise over the dunes of Thirteenth Beach, Barwon Heads.
I always feel so inspired by this view looking out across the dunes towards the Bluff and I love how the colour palette varies so much throughout the seasons. Even though it’s more muted in Winter, there is still so much colour and beauty to be found and I wanted to highlight this in the textures and the light blue saltbush which grows so abundantly along the coast.
I loved the contrast between the soft sky and the ruggedness of the dunes and how they worked so beautifully together — I hope I have captured that within this piece.
This is the original painting and the only one of its kind.
